In this issue we have two excellent articles relating to thyroid disease from authors with a substantial thyroid practice. There is no doubt that across the U.K, over the last few years, thyroid disease is increasingly being managed by otorhinolaryngologists - head and neck surgeons, which is entirely appropriate. It is encouraging as well to see so many trainees interested in developing a specialist interest in thyroid and parathyroid surgery and I have no doubt that there will continue to be further articles relating to this subject published in future issues. There are of course articles covering other areas of otorhinolaryngology as well as articles aimed at trainees. We have introduced a brief article in the format of a ‘viva’ for those of you sitting exams.
I hope you enjoy this issue and would encourage you to continue submitting articles to The Otorhinolaryngologist. I welcome any comments or suggestions which can be sent to me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
